Twiga Children's Centre started as a dream.
It was the dream of Abigael and her husband Vincent.
Abigael and Vincent want to help the disadvantaged children of Kisii. That is their dream.
Twiga Children's Centre is a drop-in centre for local children who are orphaned or otherwise vulnerable. At weekends and school breaks, they meet at the centre and socialise, play games and generally have some fun - as children ought to. At the same time, their health is monitored and if they have problems, they can discuss them with our volunteers.
Twiga has 40+ children and young people on the register, the youngest being three years old. Most of these children are living with extended families in the area or are being sheltered by the community. Some children are living alone with no adult supervision.
Twiga Children's Centre, run by Kenyan Community Support Initiative, supports these children ensuring that they have food, clothing, healthcare and an education.
But our job would be made a lot easier if we could build a proper orphanage, with dormitories, a dining room, shower and toilet block, leisure/study area and an administration office - and eventually, a chalet for visitors and volunteers.
KCSI and Twiga need your help to realise our dream. The children need you to help build a home for them.
Take a look at this site. See the children. Take them into your heart.
Help Them.
Asante sana.
